About the Department

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 1999. The objective of the Department is to produce employable and entrepreneurial engineering graduates with academic excellence with best interpersonal skills and leadership qualities. This will enable the students to serve the society for its multidirectional development in recent times, amongst fierce competition.

With boundless encouragement from the Management and the tremendous support from the faculty and students, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in the past has achieved academic excellence and will also continue to tread the path of success in the future.

Vision and Mission of the Department

Vision

To develop qualified and competent professionals in the discipline of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Mission

1• To provide appropriate inputs to the Institution from the stand point of Electrical and Electronics Engineering department, to plan, build and sustain infrastructural facilities which would support discovery and dissemination of knowledge.

2• To formulate semester wise programmes for teaching the University – prescribed curricula and associated syllabi for the courses in Electrical and Electronics Engineering

3• To discern trends in the prospects for Electrical and Electronics Engineering graduates, and to formulate and offer co – curricular programmes for career education.

4• To guide the students to shape their capabilities for acquiring theoretical foundations and application knowledge to analyze and design complex electrical and electronics engineering devices, software and systems containing hardware and software components and to work professionally in the areas of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

5• To help the Electrical and Electronics Engineering students develop a perception of the competences for global work increasingly being required for them.

6• To extend the scope of co – curricular programmes to include cultural aspects which would enable the Electrical and Electronics Engineering students to effectively interact with the environment and realise their objectives in academic work and preparation for their profession.

To apply sound mathematical, scientific and Electrical and Electronics Engineering principles to real world problems to meet the needs of society.

3. Breadth:

3.1 To carry out basic and applied research leading to new ideas, systems and devices in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and related interdisciplinary areas.

3.2 To develop proficiency in computer – based engineering software, and the use of simulation and computational tools.

4. Professionalism:

To communicate and work effectively on team-based Electrical and Electronics Engineering projects following ethical codes of the profession.

5. Learning Environment:

To avail of the academic environment, motivate themselves to self – study, and develop lifelong learning skills needed for successful career.

a) Apply mathematical formulae, science and engineering techniques.

b) Design Electrical machines, Power system, Power electronics and conduct experiments with electrical system, analyze and interpret data.

c) Design digital and analog electronic circuits and its components.

d) Solve the electrical engineering problems.

f) Communicate effectively, including the use of information technology tools when appropriate.

h) Demonstrate the skills to use computer based software for computation and simulation of Electrical and Electronics engineering problems.
