Laboratory Facilities

The Department is well equipped with sophisticated equipments and the students are trained to handle them with confidence, so that they can compete with the recent trends in the industry. There are 8 independent labs, which supports in providing an exemplary learning environment for the students during the lab sessions.

BASIC ELECTRONICS LAB I & II is equipped with sufficient number of CROs, function generators and trainer kits to enable students to perform basic experiments in analog and digital electronics.

LINEAR DIGITAL IC LABS is equipped with advanced IC trainer kits, Op – amp trainer kits, CROs and function generators to expose the students in the design and analysis of linear and digital circuits.

MICROPROCESSOR AND MICROCONTROLLER LAB is equipped with 8085, 8086 microprocessor kits, 8051 microcontroller kits along with their peripheral devices like 8255,8259,8253,8251. Interfacing of peripheral modules like ADC, DAC, stepper motor and traffic controller are performed in this lab.

DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING LAB is equipped with TMS320C5x processors to implement DSP algorithms and to study the performance of DSP processors. MAT lab software is used to design various digital filters. This lab provides enough knowledge about processors and various signal processing methods.

COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS LAB is equipped with all types of communication trainer kits and basic antennas which introduces the students to the basic concepts of communication modulation to base band, pass band modulation and exposes them to error control coding.

VLSI LAB enables the students to learn the concepts of modeling a digital system using Hardware Description Language. VHDL and VERILOG are used for designing digital systems. Model SIM tool is used for simulation. XILINX is used for synthesis. Download verification is done using FPGA Spartan II trainer kits. Final year students are effectively utilizing this lab for simulation based projects.

NETWORKS LAB is equipped with LAN Trainer to provide full support for network establishment. It is used to implement various types of protocols, decryption, serial and parallel communication.

OPTICAL AND MICROWAVE LAB is equipped with microwave test benches with Klystron and Gunn diodes as microwave sources. Optical fiber trainers are used to learn the basic elements of optical fiber transmission links, fiber nodes and structures. Students are also introduced to optical sources, receivers, different types of fibers and connectors.
