About the Department

The Department of Computer Science Engineering was started in the year 1999, at the time of commencement of the Institution. With competent academic expertise as the motto, the Department supports the development of quality software professionals. This helps the students in creating a winning edge and develop confidence to face the intense competition in the industry.

With the constant support from the Management and patronage of the staff members, the Department has pioneered in its performance over the years. The alumni of the Department possess a good placement record in various multinational firms around the country. It is the constant endeavour of the Department to foster excellence in all its activities and strive to make the knowledge of the students become an asset to build their career and contribute ultimately to the nation building.

Vision

To develop qualified and competent professionals in the discipline of Computer Science and Engineering.

Mission

• To provide appropriate inputs to the Institution from the stand point of Computer Science and Engineering department, to plan, build and sustain infrastructural facilities which would support discovery and dissemination of knowledge.

• To formulate semester wise programmes for teaching the University – prescribed curricula and associated syllabi for the courses in Computer Science and Engineering

• To discover trends in the prospects for Computer Science and Engineering graduates, and to formulate and offer co – curricular programmes for career education.

• To guide the students to shape their capabilities for acquiring theoretical foundations and application knowledge to analyze and design complex computer science and engineering artefacts, software, and systems containing hardware and software components, and work professionally in the areas of Computer Science and Engineering

• To help the Computer Science and Engineering students develop a perception of the competences for global work increasingly being required for them.

• To extend the scope of co – curricular programmes to include cultural aspects which would enable the Computer Science and Engineering students to effectively interact with the environment and realise their objectives in academic work and preparation for their profession.

To apply sound mathematical, scientific and Computer Science and Engineering principles to real world problems to meet the needs of society.

3.Breadth:

3.1 To carry out basic and applied research leading to new ideas, system and application software tools in Computer Science and Engineering and related interdisciplinary areas.

3.2 To develop proficiency in computer – based engineering software, and the use of simulation and computational tools.

4.Professionalism:

To communicate and work effectively on team/ individual-based Computer Science and Engineering projects following ethical codes of the profession.

5.Learning Environment:

To avail of the academic environment, motivate themselves to self – study, and develop lifelong learning skills needed for successful career.

Program Outcomes (POs)

a) Apply knowledge of mathematical principles and algorithms science.

b) Design algorithms for object orient paradigms, formulates the computational theory and conduct experiments with interpretable data.

c) Analyze the requirements of the system software, understand the technical specifications, design and provide novel engineering solutions and efficient product designs.

d) Function effectively on computer science & engineering laboratory teams and multi-disciplinary design teams.

e) Identify, formulate and solve computer based problems.

f) Understand their professional and ethical responsibility.

g) Communicate effectively, involving the use of information technology tools when appropriate.
